The Florence Projects from 2016/2018 is a large-scale architectural illustration series exploring the historical and visual complexity of Renaissance Florence. Centered around Piazza del Duomo and the surrounding medieval streets. The work combines detailed pen & ink draftsmanship on watercolour paper with contemporary composition and crosshatching. Inspired by the golden age of classical European engraving traditions from the early modern period. This project demonstrated the possibility of pushing my intricate style with emphasis on depth, contract and detail to new heights on a larger scale paving the way for project such as the Paris Composite.
